If you’ve taken a peek at my work, you know that I LOVE color. What better to dress your child in than some colorful threads with beautiful color and texture. I’ll be having a trunk show on Aug 26th for the Matilda Jane Clothing line and had the opportunity to get my hands on the samples to photograph Kendall in them. These pieces are so beautifully made with some serious attention to detail. Gorgeous ruffles, luxurious fabrics and the other great thing is that the pieces all work together. Check out the first two pictures. Kendall is wearing the same shirt with two completely different outfits.

REMEMBER: Matilda Jane Trunk Show, Thursday, August 26th, 1-3, 6-9pm at the studio. 7 Elm Street, Westfield, NJ. I hope to see you there!

I got to spend a beautiful afternoon with this family. Aren’t they beautiful. I just love their little guy’s dreamy eyes. He’s at one of my favorite ages where he can hold his head up so well and is full of expressions!

This one’s getting professionally framed and I know Mom and Dad will smile every time they look at it.

such a beauty!

July 7, 2010

So there are some top-secret, behind-the-scenes things going on at dewdrop photography and I haven’t had much time at all to blog, but I couldn’t resist posting just a few of this beauty! She did a wonderful job of staying asleep while we changed her and swaddled her up.

Of course, we had some awake time too. Isn’t she just darling!

create a grand view!

May 24, 2010

I posted this on facebook last week, but I thought it also deserved a post here.

When you have a 270 degree view of the Manhattan skyline, the Hudson River and New Jersey, there’s not too much that can distract you from the view. For this grand space, with it’s large windows and modern styling we went with a 30×40 double deep canvas to really make a statement. As with all of my canvases, the image wraps around all 4 sides giving it a clean and continuous look from any angle:

I always have clients wondering what they can do with the images from their sessions. Well, look no further. Here is an example of a wall collection that I just installed for some wonderful clients in Hoboken, NJ. They did a Baby’s First Year session plan with me and we did 3 sessions throughout their little girl’s first year. The largest prints in this collection are 16×20 and the smallest are 8×10. This particular collection is quite popular and one of the benefits of this particular design is that when my client moves from this space, they will have plenty of options for hanging parts of this collection in smaller sets if need be. Prints are discounted by 20% when framed through me and I’ll even hang your pieces for you.

What a great way to enjoy your portraits.

Something special happens in Cranford, NJ every spring. When the snow has melted and the sun shines down to the forest floor it comes alive. Tucked away and off the beaten track you will find…

I LOVE getting to revisit families as they grow. I last photographed this family at their beach home in Mantoloking, NJ. Since then, their family has grown by one and now their family includes this beautiful baby boy!

a few weeks ago, I took the most relaxing drive a little further west in new jersey to photograph this beautiful baby boy. Their home home which happens to be a converted milk barn was simply…dreamy. My winters tend to be full of sessions for newborns and this winter was no exception. Mom and Dad were just wonderful and did a great job of having him up before I arrived and giving him a bath so he was ready for a nice long nap during our session. It’s always risky to take pictures of newborns without diapers as their digestive systems tend to be highly unpredictable. Unfortunately, most of that action happened while Mom was holding him, but she was a trooper and remained calm through it all.

wow, it has been such a wonderful year photographing this baby. This is him just over a year ago. A perfect little morsel of newborn baby. I’m pretty sure this is the youngest baby I’ve ever photographed at just about 4 days. Mom, literally called me on the way home from the hospital and this meant that we had a wonderfully sleepy baby for our session.

…and here he is as a blossoming one year old. As curious and bright eyed as you’d expect and excited to explore the world. A quick thank you to this family for braving the weather on this cold February day. We managed to fit this session into our schedules between major snowstorms and it was worth it!

Another set of images from my special project with our pediatrician’s office. These girls are the children of another top nurse in our area. The theme for this session was horse country and will go along beautifully with the Ralph Lauren wallpaper in the office. These city girls did a great job!

I have one more session from this project to blog…fishing!
